What’s on; our top picks for what to do when glamping in Leicestershire this summer.

There is nothing more glorious than a summer in the British countryside.

When the sun comes out the East Midlands countryside really comes into its own. Country-life is buzzing in Leicestershire (and Northamptonshire for that matter). Glamping in Leicestershire this summer is set to be a delight. There is so much going on locally that you need not travel far from your Country Bumpkin Yurt to find something to do. Events, festivals, workshops, and attractions are aplenty. Read on for our top ‘what’s on’ picks nearby.

For the arty, there is a great Open Studios event in Market Harborough on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th May.

Harborough Artists Cluster invites you to meet its artists each spring during the popular Open Studios weekend. You can take a fascinating tour of the studios found in Harborough and its nearby towns and countryside villages. Harborough Artists Cluster hosts this event every year, giving visitors the chance to meet artists, talk about their artwork and discover how it is made. You will be able to buy art directly from the person who created it, which makes for a unique and very personal gift or a special piece to enhance your home. Some of the artists offer cards and prints alongside original two or three-dimensional pieces, so there is a wide choice available to everyone. Click here for a digital brochure. What a great way to see some art and explore the town and villages.

For the foody, you can get involved in Taste’borough On The Square and the Taste Trail. This takes place on Saturday 26th May in Market Harborough.

Organised by Taste Harborough, The Taste Trail allows you to sample food & drink from nearly 20 local businesses from across the breadth of the town who, grow, rear, catch, make & serve local produce in Market Harborough & the surrounding areas. Tickets are just £3 and available from all participants (including us). Taste Trail maps will be available to collect from the Square on the day with a special gift for you!
