Glamping With A Hot Tub
Country Bumpkin Yurts is all about combining luxury, peacefulness, and eco-friendliness. And what feels more luxurious than relaxing in a wood-burning hot tub under the stars with your loved ones? Glamping with a hot tub is a must!
We have a wooden hot tub from Royal Tubs (a local company just a few miles down the road) which seats up to 6 people. It’s made from Spruce wood and looks stunning next to our yurts and with the little woodland in the background. Our hot tub is wonderfully eco-friendly because it heats the water using fire instead of electricity. All our firewood is sourced via a local company which collects the wood sustainably from Dingley (not far from the site). You’ll have an evening in a hot tub that you can feel good about on so many levels.
But how does it work I hear you ask…
It’s quite simple really. Inside the hot tub is a metal box where you can build a nice big fire. Check out our fire tutorial video here. The water then heats up as it comes into contact the hot metal box. You then stir the water with the giant paddle (you’ll feel like you’re stirring a huge cauldron) to distribute the hot water. It takes about 3 hours to get it nice and hot (a bit longer in winter), then it should stay that way until the fire burns out. Just add more wood if you want it hotter for longer. Then you just get in and feel yourself unwind. There is even a mini bar to hold your glasses of bubbly. Perfect.
Did you know that a soak in a hot tub also has great health benefits?
- It improves sleep. If your body is cold, your normal sleeping pattern can be disturbed. When your body is comfortably warm, you tend to fall asleep quicker and rest through the night with fewer disruptions.
- It reduces physical and mental stress. Along with making you feel temporarily relaxed, studies show that the combination of the hot water, the massage of the jets, and the feeling of weightlessness can significantly reduce both mental and physical stress and decrease anxiety.
- It can reduce arthritic and chronic pain. In hot water, our blood circulation increases with the heat, the tightness in our muscles relaxes, and inflammation in our sensitive joints is reduced. In this state, an aching body can experience heightened flexibility, strength, and a wider range of physical motion.
- Lowers blood pressure. When you get in the tub and the temperature is hot, your heart works harder and faster so that your body can disperse excess heat. In the process, your increased blood flow is producing extra oxygen and your cells are being revitalized. While there may be an initial uptick in blood pressure, your increased warmth will cause cells to dilate, decreasing resistance against the heart and lowering your overall blood pressure.
So a good soak in our wood burning hot tub can do you a world of good! Because of this, we think yurt glamping with a hot tub is a must. This added dose of luxury will ensure your camping stay is super special. Big tents, big beds, big hot tub, big fun.
