Summer is here.
The sun is shining, the flowers are blooming, and we’re in the holiday spirit. Yurt staycations are proving popular again this year, and we can see why. This wonderful country during the summer months can give you everything you need from a holiday; sun, adventure, good food, and good company.
Many are deciding to stay in the UK this year for a holiday. Some due to the continued travel disruption abroad, some due to the economic situation, and many because they have realized over the past 2 years just how beautiful this country can be. It also helps that a yurt staycation is so easy; just pack your kids and clothes and hop in the car.
So, if you’re still deciding what to do for your big holiday this year, let us show you how to embrace a yurt staycation. We’ll explore the why and the how much.
Why a yurt staycation:
A staycation is great for so many reasons! Here are my top 3 reasons for going on a UK holiday; it’s less hassle, it’s better for the environment, and the beautiful lush scenery is world-famous. I love that you can travel just an hour or so away from any location in the UK and you can feel like you could be a million miles away. That’s the joy of being on a lush little island with such varied topography.
There is also tonnes to do when exploring the UK, especially where we are. The East Midlands boasts a huge amount to see and do. We recommend checking out our local area online before you arrive. Try TripAdvisor for Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, and more locally, Market Harborough. Having a good idea of what you can do means you can be prepared for different activities in different weather.

So you’ve got a great location that is no hassle to travel to, then add yurts into the mix and you’re onto a winner. Yurts are a unique and fun option for a staycation. They can feel adventurous and fuel the kid’s excitement whilst you still get to sleep in a proper bed.
Immersing yourself in nature is a huge benefit to a yurt staycation. Sleeping under canvas helps you to feel closer to your surroundings. You’ll hear that delightful sound of rain on canvas, and hear the birds as they chirp to each other in the hedgerows. Bare feet and the feeling of grass underfoot can be super grounding.
Nature promotes tranquility during your summer holiday. We all know nowadays that being outdoors boosts our well-being. A few days or a week glamping in the countryside will do wonders! Take it from our recent guests at Country Bumpkin Yurts:
“Is there anything you particularly enjoyed about your stay?
The peace and quiet, nature & tranquility” – June guest.
We’ve not even mentioned the hot tub yet! You can watch nature flutter around you whilst you relax in our wood-burning hot tub. It’s extra special in the evening after a day of exploring the country lanes on foot or by bike. A sunset hot tub session is the cherry on the cake of yurt staycations.
How much is a yurt staycation:
Another bonus of a yurt staycation is that it is more budget-friendly than heading abroad. You don’t need to pay for flights and airport parking. You can reduce fuel costs and save even more money if you visit us from nearby too. Many of our guests visit from Leicester, Northampton, and other local areas.
